On 5th July 2011 it was 63 years since the NHS was founded. Events were held throughout the country to mark the birthday of Britain’s most popular institution, as it faces the potential dismantling of the NHS in the form of Andrew Lansley’s Health and Social Care Bil and BPACC members showed their support outside Poole Hospital.
There is huge concern from health professionals and the general public that the proposals in the bill will change the face of the NHS forever. The bill is currently making its way through Parliament, if it passes at the third reading in the Commons, it will then move to the House of Lords. This will be the next big step in the campaign; it is an opportunity to get the changes we need to stop some of the most damaging elements in the bill. Find out more
